Another film that doesn’t really need much introduction. And it could also have fit in a few other spots on this list, but I do feel like it works even better because of the film it follows.
Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker was astounding. He was one of those actors that a lot of people doubted would be a good fit because of the types of movies he’d done before, but he fully immersed himself into that character and the movie succeeds in large part because of him. The Oscar awarded to him posthumously was well deserved.
This is one of the few films I’ve seen multiple times in theaters, made easier by the fact that I was working at a movie theater at the time, but I’d gladly go see it again if it were ever to be screened for some event. And movie theaters were safe to go to once more.
