For this one and my next post, I’m going mostly off of scores from Letterboxd, a site I use to track what movies I’ve seen over the years where people can give movies ratings out of 5 stars, writing reviews if they’d like. Sure, there are other places to rate movies as well (I’m even including a Rotten Tomatoes score in a later post), but I do really appreciate the tracker that this has, as I can sort the movies I’ve seen by their average rating. This one had a fairly low score among everything, and with that in mind that’s why I’m choosing it for this spot. Maybe you liked it too, and if that’s the case, then great!

The Master of Disguise doesn’t seem to be talked about too much these days. No one I know hails it as any kind of timeless or cult classic, and from a certain perspective I can see why. But I do have fond memories of seeing it in theaters with a friend of mine when it came out, and renting it at least once while Blockbuster was still a thing. Dana Carvey was a great main character for a kid’s movie, but seemed to fall in a bit of a slump afterwards. According to his IMDb page, after this came out in 2002, he only appeared in one thing in 2005, then nothing else until 2010. While his more famous performances may be from SNL and the Wayne’s World films, I still appreciate the many characters he managed to act as in this enjoyable distraction.
